Hello everyone,

as there are certainly fewer people reading it as a comment in the post than here in the forum, hence the question here again.

My migration is complete and I'm happy for now... now I wanted to take a closer look at the topic of DAG. The instructions here are as always... super! =) and could be reproduced almost 1-to-1 in my test environment...

What did I do?

1x Exchange Core 2019 is left over... is also running in the test environment so far.

Second Exchange installed... (you can't really do much wrong) and this step doesn't appear for me (which I think is logical if there is already one)

So far so good... Send connectors are therefore available and I simply added them... URLs with GET and SET (as in the migration instructions) and renamed the DB and moved it to another data carrier accordingly.

Exchange 2 is therefore also running...

DAG set up as specified with release on another server.

The point where I get stuck is the step with the database copy... because when I want to set it up, I get the information that the logs already exist? How can that be? The database is called something completely different!

Where could my mistake be here? All instructions are similar even on Youtube... but they don't show the error?!

Of course, Exchange 1 and Exchange 2 databases are not called the same!

Thank you for your support.

Greetings Mike

Hello Mike,

check whether the path to the log files of both databases is identical, if so, then change the path. Background: The logs of the databases start with E00 for each database and must therefore not be in the same folder. Alternatively, you could also start with E01 for a new database, but a clean separation of the logs usually makes more sense.

Greetings,

Frank

@franky

*Facepalm* <-- I think that's enough of an answer... ? ? ?

I would have thought of anything, but you know... Forest for the trees.

Thank you. (as always) ?
