Hello everyone,
supposedly you can now use M365 with an alias by entering
Set-OrganizationConfig -SendFromAliasEnabled
is set to $true.
Get-OrganizationConfig| ft SendFromAliasEnabled
also confirms it.
However, I cannot use it as an alias in OWA. In the "From:" field, I type the beginning of the alias address and it automatically recognizes the user's main address and changes my entry when I leave the field. So I have no chance to enter the alias address there.
Is something still missing?

The first time we will need to type the address, the next time you can easily select it.
but I haven't tried it yet either.
@norbertfe Yes, that's the general method of doing it. I also described above that I did it this way. But it just doesn't work, as explained above, which then happens.
Tjo, then I can't contribute much more. Have you tried copying in the complete address?
@norbertfe Yes, I found a post somewhere while googling that Microsoft has withdrawn it. However, it is unconfirmed. It was just a post by a user in a forum.
Ok, why don't you open a support case with ms, then hopefully you'll know exactly ;)
I'll be careful...
Why is that? :)
First of all, they basically keep your wallet open, and not even cheaply.
You pay m365 subscriptions and therefore have the right and the possibility to ask the support. First of all free of charge as far as I know.
hi,
What prevents you from creating another object as before and using "Send-as" to set the right to send from this object?
Certainly a one-off inconvenience with the basic setup, but it has worked for eons of years :)
Greetings,
Ralf
@monthy By another object do you mean a shared mailbox? Yes, it's been working for a while. I just wanted to try the new
Set-OrganizationConfig -SendFromAliasEnabled
try it out.

That would also be my recommendation. It doesn't have to be a shared mailbox, is a group or simply an object/email contact sufficient?
My question is not about alternatives, but purely about the "send as alias" function or, as it seems to me, the useless command
Set-OrganizationConfig -SendFromAliasEnabled
