If the setup of Exchange Server 2007 reports that no Global Catalog Server is available at the location, this is usually due to the following reasons:
- There is really no global catalog available at the location. Solution: Assign the global catalog to an existing DC or provide a new DC
- The DC at the site is a Windows Server 2008 and the domain functional level is also "Server 2008". In this case, you are probably trying to install Exchange with an old installation DVD that does not yet have an integrated service pack. At least Service Pack 1 is required for installation.
