But then I looked out of the laundry sparingly. I open the Exchange Management Console on an Exchange 2010 and want to make some configuration changes. But the console shows this message as soon as I open it:
"Error trying to connect to the specified Exchange Server: ..."
The message indicates an authorization problem, although the user is a member of the "Organization Management" group. Another Exchange server showed a different but similar error pattern:
"Your authorizations are not sufficient to display this data"
After a bit of digging, the cause of this was revealed, apparently someone had opened the console with different credentials and saved them. I found an entry under "Control Panel" -> "Logon Information Management", after deleting the entry, the permissions were correct again and the consoles opened without errors.
