It's been a while, but I still wanted to give you a brief update. Microsoft has introduced Office 2024. Outlook 2024 is also included in the new Office. So there is also a fresh Outlook for Exchange Server SE. Unfortunately, the new Office does not yet appear in my Visual Studio subscription. However, the various Office versions can be downloaded here from Microsoft as IMG files (IMG files can be opened with the Explorer):

Office 2024 is an LTSC version of the Microsoft 365 apps, but the cloud features have been removed so that the LTSC version can be used without an internet connection or cloud access. In contrast to the Microsoft 365 apps, Microsoft does not provide any new features for Office 2024 LTSC, but 5 years of security updates. Here is an overview of the features included and the differences to Microsoft 365 Apps:

The new Office is available as a Windows and Mac version, and Windows Server 2022 is also supported, although I have not found any information about its use on a terminal server. So it doesn't seem to be entirely clear whether Office 2024 LTSC can be used on virtual desktops or terminal servers.

These new functions are available for Outlook 2024:

Improved search for emails, calendars and contacts

New improvements have been added to the search in Outlook 2024 so that the most relevant suggestions are displayed when you enter your search.

Sending accessible e-mails

The Accessibility ribbon in Outlook 2024 provides you with all the tools you need to create accessible content.

Further options for creating meetings

Outlook 2024 gives users more options when creating or managing meetings to remove breaks between calls by automatically shortening meetings based on length.

Reply to an e-mail with a response

Now you can send a quick response, such as a thumbs up, to an email instead of typing a reply.
