The first day of the Microsoft Technical Summit 2014 in Berlin is drawing to a close. Time for a short summary.
The key note was quite interesting to listen to. Satya Nadella held it in person:
Now the key note is not the most interesting part of the event for me. The subsequent presentation by Jeff Woolsey was much more interesting. He talked a lot about the new features of Windows Server vNext and also about Microsoft's strategy for public and private cloud.
We then continued with Benedict Berger, who gave a vivid presentation on the innovations in Hyper-V. This was immediately followed by Carsten Rachfahl's presentation on Software Defined Storage. Each presentation contained a lot of innovations and announcements, far too much to reproduce here. Fortunately, the recordings of the presentations will soon be available on Channel9.
All in all, the first day has already been worthwhile. I'm really looking forward to tomorrow. Greetings from Berlin
