On our own behalf: There is a newsletter again

Many people have already noticed and reported that the newsletter no longer works. It wasn't actually a newsletter, but rather a notification of new posts. Unfortunately, the WordPress plugin I had been using was no longer working reliably and sending the emails was also causing problems. Many of the email addresses registered for the newsletter no longer exist and unfortunately I didn't have proper bounce management with the old plugin and the way the emails were sent. So I decided to simply start from scratch again, as many of the email addresses registered to receive the newsletter were from the "pre-GDPR" era.

I have therefore deleted all e-mail addresses from the database, so if you would like to be notified by e-mail again when there are new posts or perhaps receive a newsletter in the future, must register again.

Sending mails no longer runs directly via my hosting provider or my own SMTP server, but with the provider SendGrid. With SendGrid, bounces can also be handled quite well and I can also use the fancy API for many other things. By the way, MailPoet is now being used again as a WordPress plugin. I had already used MailPoet in the past, but the free version has a limit of 1000 subscribers. Due to the limit, I tried out various other plugins, but unfortunately many of them weren't much good. So now it's back to MailPoet in conjunction with Sendgrid. When I reach 1000 subscribers, I'll switch to MailPoet Premium.

Here is a preview for the post notification / newsletter:

So if you would like to be informed by e-mail again in future when there are new posts here, you can register here (you will also find this option in the footer or in the menu).
