Email made in Germany... with Exchange!

Everyone is talking about it at the moment: the secret services are reading. Telekom, GMX and Web.de are taking advantage of the current discussions on the subject and have recently started offering "E-Mail made in Germany". A little background: The three have decided to encrypt the transport route of the mails, i.e. the communication between GMX, Telekom and Web.de mail servers. ... Read more

Exchange 2007/2010/2013: New updates

New security updates for Exchange 2007, 2010 and 2013 were released yesterday. However, the update for Exchange 2013 was withdrawn today due to problems. Unfortunately, this seems to be happening more frequently recently. If you have already installed the update for Exchange 2013, you can find a workaround to fix the problems here:

I'll probably wait a little longer until I install the updates...

If you can't or don't want to wait, you can find the packages here:

I have created a small script that counts how many mails have been sent to a list in the last few days. The time period is customizable. However, it must be ensured that the message tracking logs are also ... Read more

Move POPcon from 32-bit server to 64-bit server

Fortunately, the time of POP3 connectors for Exchange is over. However, you can still find programs like POPcon from time to time that collect mails from the provider and deliver them to Exchange. I don't necessarily think much of such tools, but I have to admit that I also use them privately to pick up my mails and deliver them to ... Read more

Certification authority: Issue extended validation certificates (green bar in IE)

The Windows CA is also able to issue Extended Validation certificates so that the smart green bar is displayed in Internet Explorer. The whole thing is even surprisingly simple: To issue an Extended Validation (EV) certificate, a new template can be created or an existing one can be modified, I create a new template and duplicate the template ... Installation Exchange 2010 on Server 2012

Exchange 2010 is currently still frequently installed, mostly to migrate Exchange 2003. If you want to replace Exchange 2003 and use Exchange 2013, you also have to take the intermediate step via Exchange 2010. Since Exchange 2010 SP3, installation on Server 2012 is supported, but a few requirements must be met beforehand, especially if the ... Read more
