Saving Outlook signatures in the mailbox - support required

The following problem has been around for a very long time: users should use standardized signatures for emails, preferably across all devices and clients. Until now, this has required additional software to create and manage signatures.

Exchange Server itself currently only offers the option of centrally managing signatures for OWA. Additional software must then be used for Outlook and ActiveSync clients.

Jeff Guillet has made the suggestion to save e-mail signatures in the mailbox and thus synchronize them across all clients. The proposal has been heard by the Outlook and Exchange Product Group and it is now up to the users to decide whether it will be implemented.

I think it's a great idea and have already cast my vote. Anyone who would also like this option should also vote for its implementation.

Update 13.01.2019:

The article is a bit older now, but you can and should still vote for the signatures in the mailbox.
I hope that many more votes will be collected this year so that the desired feature can perhaps be used with a Cumulative Update for Exchange Server.
However, a few more votes are needed for this to happen. There are currently 6653 votes (as of 13.01.2019), putting the idea in first place among the most requested features.
Second place currently has 1969 votes. The more people vote, the more likely it is to be implemented! So go on, vote!

  2. Ich habe gerade abgestimmt. Hoffentlich kommt das dann auch für Outlook 2019, Exchange 2019 und Exchange Online. Der Titel deutet ja leider nur auf Outlook 2016 hin.

  4. Es ist einfach ein Demütigung für alle Nutzer und Administratoren von Microsoft-Produkten, auf Grundlage dieser Basisfunktionalität auch noch eine Umfage-Event zu veranstalten. Seit den ersten Tagen des Exchange sollte diese Funktionalität bereits umgesetzt worden sein.

  5. Ich habe für die Signaturen ein einfaches VBS Script geschrieben, welches eine Signatur als HTML und TXT Datei erzeugt und diese als Standard setzt

  6. Gleich abgestimmt. Tobit hat sowas schon seit ewigen Zeiten und auch noch mit Variablen (%username% etc). Warum das so eine unglaubliche Aufgabe für MS sein soll, verstehe ich auch nicht. Derzeit verwalte ich die Signaturen mittels einer CSV-Tabelle, HTML-Vorlagen und GPO, das ist alles Andere als angenehm.

Wir benutzen immer noch unter Exchange 2013 CU19 die Freeware OutlookSignature, welche sich in das AD einbinden lässt und so alle User die Outlook auf dem PC oder Notebook haben automatisch eine Signatur zukommen lassen. Änderungen des Users (z. B. Telefonnummer) werden im AD geändert und sind nach einem Neustart oder Neuanmeldung des Users sofort aktuallisiert. Mobile Geräte sind natürlich außen vor.
