Today Sophos has released an update for Sophos UTM 9.6. The update raises the version number to 9.601-5. The update is a maintenance release, which requires a restart of the UTM, AccessPoints and REDs (the AccessPoint and REDs also perform a firmware update).

The update will now be distributed gradually via Up2Date. If you don't want to wait, you can download the update for UTM 9.6 here and install it manually:

Apparently the update quality at Sophos has recently improved again, at least I have had few problems with the past updates. Nevertheless, the update should be tested if possible. A backup of the UTM is highly recommended.
