Sophos UTM: Update 9.408 causes problems

Just a small warning about the Sophos UTM update 9.408. This update causes several problems. If you run the UTM as a virtual machine on VMware ESXi, it is better not to install the update and wait.

The 9.408 update mixes up the assignment of the virtual network cards, which was also a problem in previous versions when new network cards were added to the VM. Now, however, it happens that not all network cards are recognized by the UTM. The assignment of the networks can be corrected quickly on the ESXi side, but at least in my environment no further network cards are recognized. In my case, only 4 virtual network cards are recognized. I assume that this fix is causing the problems:

Furthermore, there seem to be problems with querying the Active Directory. The connection test is still successful, but when the configuration is saved, the password does not seem to be applied correctly. As a result, all queries against the Active Directory fail. In the worst case scenario, the recipient verification of Mail Protection could reject all mails.

Some users also report problems with the SSL VPN.

It seems that several major errors have crept into this update. I was able to reproduce the problems (except for the SSL VPN), I actually only wanted to install the update because of this fix:

I'll wait and see...
