Although the official update to version 9.5 is not yet available, Sophos has released a mini update today. The update raises the version of UTM 9 to 9.412-2:
The update contains the following bug fixes:
- Fix [NUTM-7483]: [Basesystem] Optimize LPC usage
- Fix [NUTM-7564]: [SUM] RED Link state is shown wrong in Gateway Manager
If the update is not yet available via Up2date, it can be downloaded via the following link and installed manually:
I have already installed it and due to various problems in the past with virtualized UTMs, I created a snaphot beforehand. In this case, however, I could not detect any problems and so far everything is running as usual. Only 4 packages have been updated:
- cm-nextgen-agent-9.40-16.gd2afd53.rb3.i686.rpm
- tools-9.40-2.g78bd00c.rb3.i686.rpm
- ep-init-9.40-16.ga469d4d.noarch.rpm
- ep-release-9.412-2.noarch.rpm
The update to version 9.5 should be somewhat more interesting, although this is currently only available as a beta:
Version 9.5 does not yet include support for Let's Encrypt, but the WAF will be extended somewhat, which should probably make handling Let's Encrypt certificates easier:
- WAF URL Redirection gives you the ability to redirect traffic for a WAF protected URL to a different backend system or URL.
With version 9.5 there will also be Exchange templates for the WAF, but these are not yet completely up-to-date:
