I had to stifle a bit of a laugh today when I read this message here:
Data leak in the Telekom cloud enables access to third-party address books
Short version: The Telekom Cloud Manager took the name "global address list" too literally. As a result, at least one customer was able to view all entries in the address list. With 2300 customers, this may have become somewhat confusing...
Telekom admits the error and informs the affected customers. The information can also be found on the Telekom website:
Error during software changeover
Well, mistakes happen to everyone and it wasn't all that bad, not nice, but it's not necessarily a huge disaster (in my opinion). It seems that only one mailbox has seen all the entries in the GAL.
What made me smile is the fact that I came back from the Technical Summit yesterday and Azure Germany (The German Cloud) was of course a big topic at that Technical Summit.
For Azure Germany, there is the so-called data trustee, which is intended to ensure that the processing and storage of data in Azure Germany only takes place in Germany. "Data trustee" was one of the buzzwords.
And now guess what I find so funny:
Telekom becomes data trustee for Microsoft Cloud in Germany
So far so good, we have our own German cloud, completely NSA and GCHQ safe... Unless Agent Smith creates a mailbox there...
Yes, I know, Hosted Exchange and Azure Germany are two different things, but let's be honest, it's a bit funny...
I am already silent and apologize for this cynical contribution to the data trustee.
Wieso, vergibt die Telekom jetzt für Deutschland auch noch den MVP Award?
We’re doomed!
Vorsicht, wenn du MVP werden willst!
Ansonsten volle Zustimmung;-)
